Sindhudurg Live mega eye camp concludes

3,946 given spectacles, 1,453 to get free cataract operation 10 eye camps conducted across Sindhudurg district

Nearly 4,000 people were given spectacles and 1,453 were presented with cards for a free cataract operation at the concluding ceremony of the 10 eye camps conducted in various parts of Sindhudurg district on Thursday.   

The mega eye camp was organised by Konkan’s leading TV Channel ‘Sindhudurg Live’ as part of its ongoing project “Your Vision...Our Mission”.   

All 10 eye camps had received an overwhelming response and the final eye camp and concluding function was organised at the Vasudevanand Trade Centre, Hotel RSN, Mumbai-Goa highway in Kudal-Sindhudurg.   

Former Maharashtra minister and Sindhudurg MLA Deepak Kesarkar, Managing Director of Fomento Resources Ambar Timblo, MLA Vaibhav Naik, Sindhudurg Collector K Manjulakshmi, Chairman of Vision Hospital Chandrakant Shetye, MD of GKB Hi-Tech lenses Niraj Gupta and ZP President Samidha Naik were among the dignitaries present at the event.   

The tenth eye camp organised at Kudal was inaugurated by Managing Director of Fomento Resources Ambar Timblo in the presence of MLA Deepak Kesarkar and other dignitaries.   

During the concluding ceremony, 3,946 people were given spectacles and 1,453 were given cards for free cataract operations.   

The project was supported by GKB Hi-Tech lenses, Vision Hospital, Lupin Foundation, BKL Walawalkar Hospital, Entod, Gokul, Willbery Properties, Ratnagiri Live Digital Media, The Goan, Goan Varta, Bhaangarbhuin, Prudent Media and Fomento Resources.
