Laxman Raut (45) of Sindhudurg, who was admitted to Goa Medical College (GMC) hospital following a self-vehicle accident in Mormugao, passed away while undergoing treatment.
Mormugao Police were alerted by the Casualty Police at GMC regarding the incident. Upon receiving the information, police visited GMC and conducted an inquest panchanama on the body. The body was later sent for an autopsy before being handed over to the family for final rites.
Mormugao Police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is being carried out by PSI Yeshwant Raikar of Mormugao Police Station under the supervision of PI Sherif Jacques and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
