AAP candidates have
no declared incomes
They say you need money to win an election, but a few Aam Admi Party (AAP) members are contesting the upcoming elections without a declared income. According to affidavits they’ve filed, Siolim and Aldona AAP candidates have declared their total income (in income tax returns) to be zero. They do however, have movable and immovable assets in place.
Siolim candidate Vishnu Naik has declared having Rs 12,000 in cash, two accounts with balance totaling Rs 47,353, an LIC policy with an assured sum of Rs 5,00,000 and a Hero Honda Splendor. His movable assets therefore totaled Rs 6.09 lakh.
Aldona candidate Ursula D’Souza too has declared her income as shown in income tax return to be zero but has a total of Rs 78.19 lakh in movable and immovable assets. These include four savings bank accounts, a Maruti Omni and property (both commercial and residential) worth Rs 70 lakh.
