Six held for theft at Verna

Verna Police on Tuesday arrested six persons on charges of stealing brass and copper items worth Rs 9.73 lakh from a factory in Verna Industrial Estate on Monday morning.
According to Verna PSI Anand Shirodkar, the six accused had stolen brass and copper items worth Rs 9.73 lakh from a factory. As they were loading the items in the rickshaw, the factory guard raised an alarm and they fled from the spot, leaving behind some items.
“The guard took note of the vehicle registration number which helped the police to trace the vehicle as well as the stolen items,” Shirodkar told The Goan.
The accused Kaza Hussain Shaikh, Sonu Kumar Rawat, Manoj Varma, Abdul Rehman Khan, Ram Yadav and Manish Gupta were produced before the JMFC Margao and were remanded to six days police custody.
Verna Police is investigating the case.
