VASCO
Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday said a small portion of the Vasco KTC bus stand used by locals as a playground will be retained and developed when a new bus stand is taken up for development.
Godinho was speaking to reporters after a joint inspection of the KTC bus stand in Vasco along with Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, KTC Vice Chairman Kritesh Gaonkar, KTC General Manager Sanjay Ghate, former Mormugao Municipal Council chairperson Nandadeep Raut and others.
“People and children are already using a small portion of this area as the ground because there are no playgrounds in this area. We will develop the ground further, when the new bus stand project is taken up,” said Godinho
“As of now, we have already provided basic amenities at this bus stand with fans, seating arrangements and a canteen. We are also trying to provide similar amenities on the other side of the bus stand as well for the benefit of passengers,” he added.
Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar said the bus stand had been in bad shape for many years but there had been a lot of improvements made for passengers.
