CANACONA
Three members of a family from Loliem were injured when their car met with a road mishap on the Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass (MPCB) at Kindlebhag on Saturday evening.
According to sources, the family was returning home after visiting a doctor at Margao, where their car suddenly swerved at the bypass on reaching Kindlebhag area and rammed into the crash-barriers, before the car came to a halt in the opposite direction.
Vian Viegas who was seated in the passenger’s seat in front suffered serious injuries, while his father, who was driving the car, and mother sustained minor injuries in the mishap.
The car sustained major damages on the front left side, as a large piece of the crash barrier struck the car.
Police and fire service personnel along with several locals pulled out Vian by cutting open the front left door of the car.
