SANGUEM
The residents congratulated the seven councillors during a recent public meeting convened in the Church hall. Senior citizens, former councilors and others welcomed the decision of the municipal council to shift the garden to a new place and clear the land near the church. The resolution moved by Rumaldo Fernandes, Queiroz Cruz, Faijia Shaikh, Prakash Gaonkar and Amita Mapari was passed by 7-2 votes.
Earlier, Adv Amar Naik had opposed the resolution saying the garden existed during the Portuguese time. However, his statement was objected by the people who attended the
meeting.
SMC's move to shift garden at Sanguem applauded
Residents of Sanguem have congratulated seven councillors of Sanguem Municipal Council (SMC) for tabling the resolution for shifting the municipal garden from opposite the Sanguem Church to a parcel of municipal land near the police station.
