EDC Deputy Manager Muriel Brangaza has said the State government provides financial assistance to small scale and medium scale units to set up projects of eligible industrial activities at concessional rate of interest and appealed to youth to avail of these benefits.
“Unemployed youth should start their own businesses without waiting for government jobs,” said Braganza, while addressing a gathering at a Swami Vivekanand Entrepreneurship camp organised by Kala Krida Sanskrutic Mandal, Aradi, at the Socorro panchayat hall.
Kala Krida Sanskrutic Mandal President Kishor Asnodkar said the philosophy and ideals of Swami Vivekanad could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian youth.
“The state government has launched several self-employment schemes for youth to enable them to stand on their own feet and become ‘Swayampurna’. The youth should get into business activities and create employment opportunities for others,” said Asnodkar.
Socorro Sarpanch Sandeep Vazarkar also spoke on the occasion. North Goa BJP President Mahanand Asnodkar and North Goa Zillah Parishad President Kartik Kudnekar provided guidance on the government's financial schemes. Socorro Dy Sarpanch Dipali Satardekar was also present at the event.
