Unhappy over constant water shortage in their area, women from Varcha wada area in Harmal have threatened to agitate if their water woes are not resolved within four days.
Speaking to reporters, they claimed that Varcha wada in Harmal has been facing water scarcity issue since the past few months and taps are completely dry, but water bills are issued regularly.
“Women in the area will start an agitation and stage a ‘Ghagar Morcha’ at the PWD office in Pernem if water supply issues are not solved within four days,” warned Panch Rajani Ibrampurkar, while speaking on behalf of the women.
The residents said they had petitioned the water supply officials, who assured them that water supply would be restored but these promises have not materialised.
