Soon pipeline from Selaulim to boost water supply to Verna industries

MAPUSA

Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar announced that the State government is currently supplying over 10 million litres per day (mld) of raw water to industries at the Verna Industrial Estate and is now considering extending similar facilities to the Kundaim and Madkai industrial estates.

“We are already supplying more than 10 mld of raw water to Verna Industrial Estate,” Shirodkar said, adding that the government plans to lay an additional pipeline to Verna, sourcing water from the Selaulim reservoir to meet growing demand.

The minister further stated that the government is exploring the possibility of implementing similar infrastructure to supply raw water to the Kundaim and Madkai industrial estates, in a bid to support industrial growth and reduce the pressure on the treated water supply.

The proposed initiatives are part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance water resource management and ensure a sustainable supply for industrial use.
