As Chandrayaan-3, India’s ambitious moon mission is all set for a blockbuster soft landing near lunar South Pole region on August 23; the educational institutions are directed to organize special assemblies for students and faculty to witness the LIVE streaming of the landing.
If successful, India will be the first country in the world to land a probe on the Moon's South Pole.
The Directorate of Education (DoE) in a circular issued to all the heads of government, government aided, unaided primary, secondary, higher secondary and special schools, have directed to “organise special assemblies with participation of students and faculty to witness the LIVE stream covering Chandrayaan-3 landing on the Moon from 5.15 pm to 6.15 pm”.
“The landing of India's Chandrayaan-3 is a monumental occasion that will not only fuel curiosity but also spark a passion for exploration within the minds of our youth. It will generate a profound sense of pride and unity as we collectively celebrate the prowess of Indian science and technology,” Director of Education Shailesh Zingade said.
The live coverage will be available via multiple platforms, including the ISRO Website (https://www.isro.gov.in/), ISRO's official YouTube channel ('ISRO Official'), ISRO's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ISRO), and DD National TV channel.
Zingade said that the success marks a significant step forward for Indian Science, Engineering, Technology, and Industry.
The schools are directed to submit statistics of number of participants who viewed the LIVE stream along with photographs.
