the goan I networkrCURCHOREM r rAccording to parish priest Fr Vital Miranda, the service will begin with a prayer service at 5 pm, followed by Mass at 5.30 pm and a penitential Rosary in the church. rMeanwhile, a team from the diocese’s Council for Social Justice and Peace will inspect the two roadside crosses desecrated in Curchorem on July 6 and the damaged crosses, niches and gravestones at the Curchorem parish cemetery during a special visit to the place on Friday. rThe CSJP will also interact with Fr Miranda and a group of locals in the connection. rIn a related development, one of the two damaged roadside crosses was repaired by locals on Tuesday, while the Curchorem parish has decided to wait for the law-enforcement agencies to complete investigations, before beginning work to repair the damage at the cemetery. “Once the police give us the clearance, we will start the process of repairing the damaged crosses, niches and gravestones in the cemetery,” said Fr Miranda.
Special service to seek forgiveness for desecrators
The Guardian Angel Church at Curchorem will conduct a special religious service on Friday evening to seek God’s forgiveness for those involved in the desecration of 40 crosses, niches and gravestones at its cemetery in the wee hours of Monday.
