In yet another incident of reckless driving within four days, a speeding Tata Safari SUV rammed into 3 Tata Ace pickups and a two-wheeler at Varunapuri junction, Vasco, in the wee hours of Saturday.
The speeding Safari SUV also crashed into several milk trays placed along the roadside.
Speaking to reporters, Vasco Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo said the accident occurred at 5 am on Saturday, when a speeding Tata Safari SUV rammed into three Tata Ace pickups and a two-wheeler at the Varunapuri junction. "There were no injuries or loss to human life," said PI Raposo.
Vasco police later registered a case of rash and negligent driving against Jonas Silveira of Headland Sada. Raposo also informed that Silveira was later taken for a medical checkup and found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Vasco police have registered an offence under Section 279 of IPC and 185 of Motor Vehicle Act.
Earlier on December 12, a speeding Scorpio SUV proceeding from Harbour to Vasco had rammed into five two-wheelers and a car, injuring six persons in the incident. While the driver managed to flee after the SUV came to a halt when one tyre got stuck in a gutter, the other occupant of the vehicle was nabbed by Vasco police.
