The spike in Covid-19 cases continued in Bardez with over 70 new persons infected with the virus on Sunday.
Mapusa reported 32 fresh cases including another foreigner testing positive at the Mapusa detention centre, as the infection has spread almost in every ward in the town.
The Health Officer of Mapusa Urban Health Centre, Dr Cheryl de Souza said that four persons each were found positive in Dangui Colony, Carrasvaddo and Mapusa central while three persons each tested positive in Cunchelim, Shettya-vaddo/Duler, Ganeshpuri and Ansabhat.
Similarly, two persons each were infected in Xelpem and Khorlim and one each in Angod, Dattawadi and Mapusa detention centre.
Candolim primary health centre registered 15 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday. According to Health Officer, Dr Roshan Nazareth four each tested positive in Calangute and Pilerne, three in Saligao, two in Reis Magos and one each in Nerul and Sangolda.
Colvale primary health centre also reported 15 new positive cases. Severn persons tested positive in Revora, three each in Assonora and Pirna and one each in Tivim and Nadora.
Nine persons tested positive in Siolim primary health centre “ Anjuna (2), Canca (3), Siolim (2), Parra (1) and Assagao (1).
Health Officer of Aldona primary health centre, Dr Pritam Naik informed that six new infections were reported in the PHC.
Four persons tested positive in Ucassaim and one each in Aldona and Corjuem.
