Goa must follow Central rule to nail lazy officials

It is a well known fact that millions of citizens suffer thanks to lazy, corrupt babus or bureaucrats.

The corrupt inefficient employees will now retire prematurely, as according to a Personnel Ministry order, the Centre has asked all its departments to review service records of employees who have completed 30 years in service to identify inefficient or corrupt staff and retire them prematurely in public interest.

The order also direct departments and ministries to conduct quarterly reviews of these officials, to determine whether they may need to be prematurely retired from service.

All government servants must learn to give whole hearted attention to the work and be punctual so as to set example to others.

The object of the Rule is to weed out the deadwood in order to maintain a high standard of efficiency and initiative in the government service. A government servant should be an asset, not a burden or parasite.  Our State government should also follow the same. Remove all incompetent employees. Corruption is not just hampering the growth but is the biggest national security threat.
