OLD GOA: A 35-year-old man from Santa Cruz drowned in the Haro Sankov lake on Friday morning while trying to retrieve a fishing net he had set the night before. According to available information, Pankaj Gauns had already collected more than half of the fish from the net when he drowned.
“A passer-by saw Gauns in the water and ran to get help. But by the time he was pulled out, he had already passed away,” a police source told The Goan. His body was later taken to GMC for a post-mortem examination.
