The annual report of various activities and undertaken by the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities for the year 2022-2023 was released by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai in the presence of Sandhya Kamat, director, Directorate of Social Welfare, Guruprasad Pawaskar, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and Taha Haaziq, secretary, office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities.
Appreciating the innovative work carried out by the State Commissioner for PwDs Guruprasad Pawaskar the Chief Minister assured his whole-hearted support for Commission’s activities. This annual report includes details about numerous initiatives undertaken by the Commission in addition to the ‘Purple Fest’ organised recently in Panaji.
“The State government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is working to integrate the disabled into the mainstream,” said Sawant and added that his government is striving hard to improve accessibility for people with disabilities in Goa.
Guruprasad Pawaskar shared that the current commission body started its service in January 2022.
