The state government has announced the continuation of the Diamond Jubilee Government Investment for Technical Education Scheme (DJ-GIFT) for students applying for engineering and hotel management courses for the academic year 2025-26.
According to a notification issued by the Directorate of Technical Education, the scheme will remain available to all eligible students enrolled in the academic years 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25, with the base fees and eligibility criteria set for each of those years.
The notification added that the scheme will also apply to students admitted in 2025-26, provided they meet the eligibility criteria and their annual family income does not exceed Rs. 12 lakh in 2024-25.
For students admitted in the 2025-26 academic year, the base fees under the scheme will be Rs. 30,000 per year for a Diploma in Engineering and Rs. 75,000 per year for a Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
For students entering first-year degree courses in 2025-26, the base fee will be Rs. 1.10 lakh per year. This will increase to Rs. 1.20 lakh in 2026-27, Rs. 1.30 lakh in 2027-28, and Rs. 1.40 lakh in 2028-29.
In private colleges in Goa, annual fees for degree courses can reach up to Rs. 2 lakh, with students required to pay Rs. 1 lakh, while the state covers the remaining balance.
