The closing ceremony of the 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival 2025 was held at Kala Academy on 17 August 2025, in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Delilah M Lobo, MLA and Vice Chairperson of ESG, Damu Naik, film personality and former ESG Vice Chairman, Ashwin Chandru, IAS, CEO of ESG, Dipak Bandekar, Director of the Department of Information & Publicity, and other dignitaries.
Welcoming the guests and audience, Delilah Lobo highlighted the significance of celebrating Goa’s cinematic legacy.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to renowned Goan actress, singer, model, and social worker Varsha Usgaonkar for her contribution to Hindi, Marathi, and Konkani cinema. The festival also honoured Late Baba Naik with the Recognition of Goan Film Legacy award for his work in Goan cinema. Jury members for feature and non-feature films were felicitated during the event.
The awards for the best films across the three editions were announced as follows:
10th Edition (2018–2019): Best Feature Film – Juze (14 awards)
11th Edition (2020–2021): Best Feature Film – Ransaavat (7 awards); Best Non-Feature Film – Kupamcho Daryeo (5 awards)
12th Edition (2022–2023): Best Feature Film – Mog (8 awards); Best Non-Feature Film – Gathan (3 awards)
Winners of the 48-hour short film competition included:
Best Film (First Prize) – Ful ani Savli (Flower and Shade)
Best Film (Second Prize) – Before Sunrise
Best Director – Glen Cardozo (Ful ani Savli)
Best Cinematographer – Tejas V. Naik (Ful ani Savli)
Best Editor – Yuri B. Carvalho (Ful ani Savli)
Best Actor (Male) – Niraj Arrie (Lift)
Best Actor (Female) – Rati Bhatikar (Ful ani Savli)
Awards were presented by Dr Pramod Sawant, Delilah M Lobo, Ashwin Chandru, IAS, Dipak Bandekar, Gajendra Ahire, Jury Chairman (Feature Film), and Asim Sinha, Jury Chairman (Non-Feature Film).
The ceremony featured performances by Goan singers Sonia Sirsat and Ajit Parab, along with acts by Bharat and More from Chala Hawa Yeu Dya and Vardhan and group. Dipak Bandekar proposed the vote of thanks.
