The Goa government on Wednesday hiked the Dearness Allowance (DA) to 53 per cent of basic pay from the existing rate of 50 per cent, with retrospective effect from July 1, 2024, to compensate for the price rise.
The hike, which is in line with the Central government’s decision, will benefit over 63,000 employees of the State government and grant-in-aid educational institutions.
The salary, as per the new pay structure, will be paid from November 2024 along with arrears from July to October.
In April, the DA was hiked from 46 per cent to 50 per cent, with effect from January 1 onwards.
