Statistics Day on June 29
PANAJI: Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation has organized a State-level seminar on the occasion of Statistics Day on June 29, at Seminar hall of the Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation, behind Pundalik Devasthan Porvorim.
The themes of the seminar is ;Impact Assessment of Government Schemes. Any scheme of the government like DSS, Ladli Laxmi, Griha Aadhar etc, can be taken for study. The researchers have to conduct primary survey of beneficiaries on sample basis and socio economic development in Goa.
India is observing June 29, every year since 2007, as Statistics Day to mark the birth anniversary of late Prof PC Mahalanobis, in recognition of the contribution made by him in the fields of economic planning and statistics.
