MARGAO
Former Sanguem MLA and BJP leader Subhash Faldesai has told Congress party to stop the “stunt” in the name of Jana Gana Mana, Nomon Tuka Goykara, and dared the party to table a no-confidence motion against the BJP-led coalition government on the floor of the House to decide the majority.
The BJP leader also directed his tirade at former Sport Minister, Ramesh Tawadkar, for playing the Bahujan Samaj card, seeking to know how Tawadkar can make a statement that the BJP leaders are responsible for the defeat of Bahujan Samaj leaders in the 2017 Assembly election.
Flanked by party ZP member Ulhas Tuemkar and MMC councilor Rupesh Mahatme, Subhash told the media at the South Goa district party office on Wednesday that the Congress leaders should go to the opposition ruled constituencies to find out the grievances of the people against the party MLAs. “The exercise launched by the party under the title Nomon Tuka Goykara is nothing but a stunt. They are out to create confusion in the minds of the people. Instead of going to the governor to dismiss the government and call the single largest party to form the government, the Congress should table a no-confidence motion on the floor of the house and prove its majority,” he said, saying the people of Goa are clever enough to read the games played by the Congress.
On allegations made by former Sports Minister Tawadkar, Subhash said that the leader is free to contest the ensuing Lok Sabha election, but he cannot make wild allegations that certain BJP leaders were responsible for the defeat of party MLAs hailing from the Bahujan Samaj in the 2017 Assembly election. “Tawadkar should know that he had enjoyed four significant portfolios when he was a minister in the BJP government.”
