Says school managements to be told to terminate those who do not attend duties

Speaking to The Goan, Education Director Gajanan Bhat informed, “I have asked the officials of the three education zones “ North, Central and South to convene a meeting of the members of the school managements. We have decided to direct the school managements to terminate the Bal Rath employees who do not attend their duties.”
The Education Department has already issued a circular directing the managements of aided schools having Bal Rath buses to take stern action against the defaulting employees.
“The Department will not compromise in this regard. The respective managements will have to inform about the action initiated to the Department within three days,” reads the circular.
Presently, there are 422 Bal Rath buses ferry students of government aided high schools,
higher secondary schools and special schools.
Meanwhile, the Union has decided to continue with their strike till October 25 and resume work on October 26.
Speaking about the decision, Union leader Swati Kerkar said, “We have still not received any offers over talks on our demands. We will decide the next course of action on Wednesday based on the reaction we get from management after rejoining work.”
The demands of the Union include hike in the salaries of drivers and attendants, payment of salaries for the entire year instead on ten months and job security.
