Chief Minister Pramod Sawant met representatives of industries from the Verna Industrial Estate and proposed a stronger role for the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) in promoting local hiring and formalising tie-ups with private companies.

At the meeting, Sawant said the GHRDC could work as a staffing partner for industries by providing skilled local manpower, with the aim of increasing employment opportunities for Goans within the State. The proposal was discussed with industry leaders and HR heads from companies based in Verna.

The Chief Minister also announced a job fair to be organised by the GHRDC in collaboration with the Verna Industries Association on April 23 at the GIDC Hall in the Verna Industrial Estate.

He urged companies to take part in the event, which is expected to kick-start the initiative and create more job opportunities for local youth.
