The students began to feel uneasy after consuming pav bhaji. The matter was quickly brought to the notice of the parents, who rushed to the school and alerted Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte.
Khaunte directed Porvorim Primary Health Center (PHC) health officer Dr Roshan Nazareth to rush to the school along with his staff and later visited the school to inquire about the condition of the students.
Speaking to The Goan, Dr Nazareth said 16 students had complained to him that they were feeling uneasy. “I immediately attended to them and after treatment, 11 students told me that they were feeling better. Since the remaining five students complained about stomach pain, they were referred to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim,” informed Dr Nazareth.
“The five students were also discharged from the GMC after necessary medical treatment. Some officers from the FDA at Panaji arrived at the school and took samples of pav bhaji for analysis,” said Dr Nazareth.
According to sources, a report from the FDA is expected within the next
48 hours.
