Performing yoga for a few minutes may be difficult for many, but 108 students of Ideal High School at Pilgao-Bicholim went on and on for five-and-half hours demonstrating a staggering 1,10,703 Suryanamaskar asanas on Thursday and creating a record in the process.
The unique feat of having a 108 students perform 1,10,703 Suryanamaskar asanas was demonstrated at Zantye college Gymkhana hall, Bicholim, on the occasion of World Yoga Day and has been recorded in the Golden Book OF World Records (GBOWR).
The Suryanamsakar demonstrations began at 5.30 am under the guidance of PE teacher Sandesh Barazankar and went on till 11 am. The audience included a large gathering of parents and the GBOWR CEO Gaurav Mittal, who witnessed the event.
