Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party supremo Sudin Dhavalikar has hit back at former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar for his comments on recruitment against the government saying that it was Parsekar himself who brought in the recruitment ban that later backfired.
"It was Parsekar himself who had put a ban on recruitment in November 2016. I had told him that it will backfire on us but he declined to hear me. It is because of this recruitment ban Pasekar himself along with Arlekar, Dayanand Mandrekar, Subhash Faldesai, Deepak Dhavalikar, Lavu Mamledar lost in the elections. When Parsekar himself stopped recruitment how can he blame Manohar Parrikar?" Dhavalikar asked.
He said that it was Parrikar who lifted the ban especially in the PWD department. "In my department all posts are cleared and those which are lapsed are sent for revival. Offer letters have been sent to the selected candidates from Mandrem, Pernem, Siolim, Sanguem and others. There is no motive at all to deny earlier candidates and recruit fresh candidates," Dhavalikar said, hinting that he would recruit all the candidates from the constituencies where the BJP lost without discriminating against them.
In November, last year, the government introduced a ban on recruitment ostensibly on account of a tough financial situation. However political commentators had observed that the ban was meant to target Sudin where a bulk of the recruitment was affected.
