Speaking to The Goan, petitioners Abhijit Prabhudesai said that the matter was heard briefly but had to be adjourned as the state government advocate needed to "catch a flight" and was seeking that the matter be posted after December 10.
"We had sought a day-to-day hearing on the matter, but the government opposed saying that they would like the hearing after December 10. We put forward that the government was seeking adjournments while at the same time moving forward with full speed when it comes to constructing the Mopa airport and only delaying the hearings," Prabhudesai told The Goan.
When it was pointed out that the project proponent had begun felling trees, the NGT directed that not a single tree be felled until the hearings are complete," Prabhudesai.
