In what appears to be a case of mass suicide, four members of a family including two minor sons were found dead in a second floor flat of an apartment in Mapusa.
Mapusa Police have found a four-page suicide note and has, as of now, registered the case as unnatural death.
Shahu Dhumale (45), his wife Kavita (40) and their two sons Paras (9) and Sairaj (2) were natives of Gandhinglaj-Kholapur in Maharashtra, but residing in a flat of God’s Gift apartment at Khorlim in Mapusa.
Police informed that the husband’s body was found hanging at the entrance of the flat while the other three bodies were found lying on the floor in one of the bedrooms.
There were no visible external injuries on the bodies but the exact cause of death will be known only after the autopsy, police said.
“We have recovered a four-page note from the bedroom. It’s quite an extensive note which we are trying to analyse,” DySP Edwin Colaco said.
