H H Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji Maharaj, who was awarded a Padma Shri, said the award was a victory for Goan spirituality.
Brameshanand Swami, who is the Peethadhishwar of Shree Datta Padmanabh Peeth, was welcomed at the Dabolim Airport by followers and well-wishers with the chanting of Ved Mantra and playing of the Dhol Tasha outside the arrival lounge.
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar were also present at Dabolim airport and welcomed Swami with a huge garland on his arrival in the State.
"I dedicate this award to all Goans and this award is the victory of the strength of Goan spirituality,” said the Swamiji.
He also appealed to the newly-elected MLAs to work selflessly and tirelessly for the well-being of the people.
"While I want to congratulate Sankalp Amonkar and Daji Salkar and other MLAs who have been elected for the first time, I appeal to them to work for their constituents in a selfless manner leaving behind any political affiliation.”
“It is important that they must work for the betterment of society and work hard to create employment and carry out development so that they can ensure the well-being of every Goan to a greater level," said Swami.
