South district cops defeated North district cops by 5 wickets in an one-day exhibition leather-ball cricket match of 35-overs-per-side, organised by Goa Police Officers at Arlem Cricket Ground on Friday.
The South district cops chased down a target of 183 with 30 balls to spare. PSI Yash Raikar was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his blistering unbeaten 100 in the chase after picking three crucial wickets in the first inning.
PI Filomeno Costa also picked three wickets and was adjudged as the best bowler. DySP Rajendra Prabhudessai scored crucial runs in the chase and was adjudged as the best batsman.
Sensei Rodrigues to conduct karate classes
New batches and regular karate classes conducted by Goa's senior karate instructor, Sensei Joseph Rodrigues, will begin from Monday, April 4 at Dojo de Goa at Caculo Mall and at Goa College of Pharmacy. Sensei Rodrigues is a 6th Degree Black Belt and president of the Traditional Karate Association of Goa. He is also a national referee. The classes will be held at Dojo de Goa at Caculo Mall - Tue, Thu & Sat, 4.45 pm for the beginners and at 6 pm for advanced students; for adults, the classes will be held on Mon, Wed, Fri at 6.30 am. The classes will be held at Goa College of Pharmacy on Mon, Wed, Fri at 6 pm, for all age groups. A summer vacation batch for beginners will be conducted from April 2 to May 28, at 10 am at Dojo de Goa at Caculo Mall on Mon, Wed and Fri.
