Crime branch investigations in the gruesome murder of Swapnil Walke have revealed that the accused persons got the right contacts in Bihar for the procurement of the illegal pistols through a waste collector from Margao.

That’s not all. The accused headed to Delhi by a private airline reached Begusarai, Bihar, and stayed in a hotel which was booked by Rahul Kumar.

Crime branch sleuths informed that one of the three accused persons established contact with the waste collector, who was working as a daily wage labourer in the commercial capital. 

“With contacts from the waste collector, accused Evander and Mustafa headed to Bihar on July 5 and stayed in a hotel at Begusarai, Bihar, which was booked by Rahul Kumar, who is one of the three accused arrested from Bihar under the Arms Act,” sources said.

The chargesheet states that accused Mustafa Shaikh obtained contact of Rahul Kumar having cell No 7061708328 R/o Begusarai and accused Evander Rodrigues booked for him an air ticket to Delhi on Indigo Airlines which is on record. 

Mustafa reached Delhi on 30.06.2020 and he along with Evander Rodrigues visited Begusarai, Bihar, on 05.07.2020 and stayed at Hotel James Begusarai booked by Rahul Kumar, the chargesheet states.

Crime branch sleuths informed that the investigation agency has recorded the statement of the waste collector and he has been cited as one of the witnesses in the case.

The chargesheet stated that the investigation revealed that on the intervening night of July 13 and 14, Mustafa reached Margao from Begusarai-Bihar via Mumbai by train with the pistol and accused Omkar Patil received the same on a railway track in order to avoid checking by police. Thereafter, they test-fired the weapon at Rawanfond bridge. The said place as pointed out by Mustafa was searched with a metal detector in presence of panchas. An empty was found and same was attached under panchanama, the chargesheet stated.
