Deceased Swapnil Walke had sustained a total of 21 brutal stab injuries, including nine stabbed/chopped wounds and 11 abrasions and bruises, besides the gunshot wound which proved fatal and resulted in his death.
The post-mortem report by Dr Madhu Ghodkirekar revealed that the deceased suffered 21 brutal injuries of stabbing which include one entry and exit gunshot wound, nine stabbed/chopped wounds and 11 abrasion and bruises.
The cause of death was certified as “due to hemorrhage and shock as a result of gunshot injury on chest and due to multiple stabbed injuries on chest, abdomen and right arm caused by sharp cutting penetrating weapon.”
The blood-stained knife was recovered from a distance of 500-600 meters away from the scene of the crime at the instance of the accused Mustafa which was used by him during the commission of the crime.
The Bolero jeep No GA-01-S-4810 which was stolen from Dona Paula and used and parked by the accused persons in front of Krishni Jewellers was also attached under panchanama.
Investigation revealed that the clothes, shoes, raincoat worn by accused Mustafa and Evander at the time of the commission of the offence had blood stains and in order to destroy the evidence, these set on fire by using petrol near Manipal Hospital, Dona Paula. The burnt remains of the articles with ashes were attached under panchanama at the instance of Evander, the charge sheet stated.
