The government has shunted out Swayandipta Pal Chaudhuri from the post of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL).
The IAS officer Hemant Kumar who is also holding as commissioner state taxes has been told to take additional charge as MD and CEO of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited.
Shashank Thakur has issued an order in this regard on Tuesday. The recently conducted Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Audit has raised questions on the appointment of Chaudhuri.
The CAG report mentioned that when the Chaudhary was notified as MD and CEO of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited the government did not issue any formal order to salary fixation which means that Chaudhuri was only eligible to draw the salary of Rs 72600 plus 10 percent extra towards chargers of the position of IPSCDL.
However, Chaudhuri continued to draw a salary of Rs 3.05 lakhs at 16 Pay Matrix of the 7th pay commission without any government approval. This continued for the last 16 months.
