Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza on Monday appealed to the younger generation to respect the efforts of freedom fighters who made huge sacrifices for Goa's freedom, while also taking a pledge to keep the State clean and green.
Speaking at the Goa Liberation Day ceremony at the Government Complex in Mapusa, D'Souza said cleanliness was not the government's responsibility alone.
“This is a responsibility for the entire society and today's youth and students should take on this responsibility,” he said.
WRD Minister Dyanand Mandrekar, Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo, MMC chairperson Sandeep Falari, MMC councillors, Deputy Collector Chandrakant Shetkar, Mamlatdar Dasharath Gawas, DySP Mahesh Gaonkar, PI Tushar Lotlikar, government officers, freedom fighters and locals were present on the occasion.
