Canacona taluka witnessed a third road mishap on Thursday when an empty tanker toppled on the NH-66 highway near the Parshuram temple at Poinguinim. The driver escaped unhurt in the mishap.

According to sources, the tanker which was headed towards Karwar toppled on the highway and completely blocked the road on Thursday evening, making it virtually impossible for even a two-wheeler to cross on either side of the road.

Authorities then diverted traffic at two different locations, along the Khawat road to Poinguinim bazaar and along the Ordhofond-Sadolxem-Poinguinim bazaar road.

Till Thursday night, efforts were on to remove the ill-fated tanker from the road.
