Addl charge to MMC head clerk

A day after The Goan highlighted how the outgoing Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Deepali Naik had issued an order to a head clerk to hold additional charge of Municipal Superintendent, incumbent Chief Officer Y B Tawde on Thursday said his office will initiate the process to get the order revoked.
The controversial order was issued by the outgoing Chief Officer moments before handing over the office charge to the incumbent Chief Officer.
When The Goan contacted, Tawde on the controversial order with the decision not going down well with the Municipal employees, he said that he would set in motion the exercise to get the order revoked immediately.
Sources in the know said that Tawde, during his last stint in office, had also received an order to appoint two staffers to the post of Superintendent without any noting from the municipal administration. “Since I was preoccupied with official work at the district collectorate, I could not start the process to get the order revoked. It will be done so in a day or two," Tawde told The Goan.
