The Town & Country Planning (TCP) Department has suspended its draftsman for allegedly harassing and demanding bribes from
the general public in exchange for money or undue favours.
TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane informed that Chandrashekar Tuenkar, Draftsman Grade 1 in the Tiswadi office is suspended following allegations.
“There were several complaints I received from people concerning extortion and harassment of people for giving certificates in exchange for money or undue favours. I have placed him under suspension,” he said.
The minister has appointed Chief Town Planner James Mathew to hold an immediate inquiry, and if the report proves the draftsman guilty, ‘he will be dismissed from service without delay.’
