The free trial run will soon have some costs imposed once the Artificial Intelligence Driven Security, Integrated Traffic Management and eChallan System begins a full-fledged functioning. Bengaluru-based Beltech AI Pvt Ltd claims ‘Zero Cost to the Government’ while the fact is that the company operates on a revenue-sharing basis, as is the practice in other states.
As per various reports, Beltech offers Design Finance Build Own Operate and Transfer or BOOT or PPP model on revenue sharing basis with government departments, urban local bodies, smart cities, traffic police, national highway authority of India, ministry of transports, etc.
While its efficiency has been remarkable, the claim of zero cost could be disputed.
Interestingly, the CMO has also claimed that AI is always self-learning, which means that every day, there is better public infrastructure without the government spending any additional tax-payer’s money.
“Multiple companies were invited to carryout a pilot in Goa. Of the many companies, only one agreed to do the pilot for free...Further, the company was ready to bear the cost of all capital and operating expenses, and work with the Government of Goa on a Public Private Partnership model,” the CMO further said.
This technology is also expected to reduce toxic emissions within the state, as vehicle idling time will reduce; and has AI-Driven Facial Recognition/ Ticketing System, AI-Driven Vehicle Counting and Classification System, AI Driven Garbage Monitoring System, AI Driven Crime Detection System etc. The wifi-enabled network is fitted with 360-degree pan tilt zoom and high-resolution facility.
