Deputy Commissioner (Collector) of Belagavi Nitesh Patil, who is also the District Election Officer, said teams formed in the wake of assembly elections should be proactive and work diligently.
He was presiding over the officers’ meeting held on Monday in the meeting of the District Collector’s office in view of the upcoming assembly elections.
“Teams already deployed at the border check posts should monitor each and every vehicle, especially for illicitly transported Goan liquor, etc. The teams deployed should be functioning 24-hours at border check posts and in each police station. Any illegal stocks of goods, liquor etc found in warehouses, factories, buildings, houses should be inspected and raided,” DC Patil ordered.
He further directed Election Officers of the assembly constituencies to visit and check the polling booths, mustering, demustering centers, check posts and other places under their jurisdiction.
The guidelines of Election Commission should be followed strictly. He said that care should be taken to avoid any kind of loopholes.
Commissioner of Police Dr. MB Boralingaiah, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Harshal Bhoyer, District Superintendent of Police Dr. Sanjeev Patil, Deputy Conservator of Forests Harshabhanu and others were present in the meeting.
