A 33-year-old technician got electrocutedwhile repairing a lift at the Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) onThursday evening.
According to sources, Sharana Basava, a nativeof Karnataka, was working on the second floor of the CHC building to repair thelift, which had been out of order for the past six months.
Canacona police informed that on Thursdayevening, a call was received from the doctor on duty at CHC that Basava hadbeen brought dead to the Casualty of Canacona CHC as a case of electrocution onthe second floor of the CHC.
Police enquiries revealed that Basava, alongwith two other persons, was working on the lift on the second floor when heaccidentally came into contact with an electrical source and sustained anelectric shock, due to which he became unconscious.
He was taken to the Canacona CHC, where he wasdeclared dead on arrival. Canacona police sent the body for an autopsy at theSouth Goa District Hospital in Margao, and PSI Babu Dessai is conductingfurther investigation.
