A telecom company on Monday morning patched up a pothole which exposed a fibre optic cable pipe along the Baina-Desterro road.
Taking cognisance of a report in The Goan, the telecom company swung in action within hours and workers of the company were seen patching the pothole.
The Goan on Sunday had highlighted the issue after residents had complained that a child had fractured a hand due to an accident because of the exposed cable on the road.
Though the telecom company had initially mentioned that maintenance of the road after laying of fibre optic cables was the duty of the PWD, it decided to cover the pothole immediately at its own cost, considering the danger to motorists and public backlash.
