MARGAO
The Cuncolim police have registered an offence against three persons for theft and under the provisions of Goa, Daman and Diu Minor Minerals Concession Rules, 1985 for illegally extracting laterite stones at Naqueri Village of Quepem taluka without obtaining valid permission from Directorate of Mines for quarrying of laterite stones.
The three persons have been further accused for transporting the stones to an unknown destination thereby committing theft of resources of State Government for their personal gain, thus causing loss to the State government.
The police have registered the case under Section 379 r/w 34 IPC and Rule 3 and 38 of Goa, Daman and Diu Minor Minerals Concession Rule 1985.
