Three held for distributing cash at Usgao

Ponda police arrested three persons from Dhatwada-Usgao for allegedly distributing money to voters in Usgao area late Saturday night. Cash of Rs 9,500 and a car have been confiscated in this connection.

Police informed that acting on the complaint of flying squad officer, Apurva Karpe, the police arrested Sarvesh Bandekar, Gaurav Phadate and Sandesh Patil.  
According to sources, some locals complained to the Flying Squad that money was being distributed and the police rushed to the site and arrested the accused.  A car used for the cash distribution was attached, while 13 notes of Rs 500 and 30 notes of Rs 100 were found in possession of the accused.  
An offence was registered under Sections 171E, 171 F and 188 (r/w 34) of Indian Penal Code and Ponda police is investigating the case.
