Three held in Moira for assault

MAPUSA

Three members of a family were arrested and later released for allegedly causing hurt and breach of peace in Moira on Wednesday.

Mapusa police informed that complainant, Ravi Naik (28) was allegedly assaulted by his neighbours Lavu Thakur (41), Sanjay Thakur (43), Umesh Thaukur (49) and another person near his house at Posao, Moira on Wednesday noon. Naik suffered minor injuries in the ensuing scuffle.

Based on the complaint, Mapusa police arrested the alleged accused, Lavu Thakur, Sanjay Thakur and Umesh Thaukur while the fourth accused is absconding.

They were arrested under Sections 341, 504 and 324 of IPC. A local court released them on bail bond of Rs 5,000 each. Head constable Ajay Gaonkar is investigating the case.
