Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Sunday launched sewerage connectivity works in the constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore.
The three sewerage connectivity works were launched at Dovondem Murida/Aguada and Dongorwaddo in Fatorda constituency at the cost of Rs 2 crore at the hands of prominent local citizens of the areas.
Briefing the media, Sardesai said the Fatorda constituency is on the way to be 100 per cent connected to the underground sewerage network within this year after the completion of the ongoing North Main sewerage trunk pipeline costing about Rs 300 crore.
He said the North Main sewerage trunk pipeline was sanctioned during his stint as Minister in the Manohar Parrikar government in 2017. “The North Main sewerage line is a major project initiated in Fatorda which will replace the old and dilapidated line laid in the 80’s. Once completed and commissioned, the project will rid of the overflowing sewage chambers and discharge of sewage in the storm water nullahs,” he added.
