Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) is set to take on CM Manohar Parrikar in the upcoming Panaji by-poll. GSM has announced its President Anand Shirodkar as its candidate for Panaji. He is expected to file nomination in next two days
Speaking to media persons after the announcement, Shirodkar alleged that Parrikar has failed as an MLA to address issues of Panaji. "Forget making Panaji a smart city, he has not even managed to address long pending garbage issue of Panaji," he said.
"Now he has announced 365-day action plan for Panaji and asked the residents to start a reverse countdown from August 29 after the results. It looks like this is being announced by some newly-elected candidate. I want to tell him that his reverse countdown started when GSM entered State politics," he said.
He has however appealed to Panjimites, "If you want to save democracy and reduce corruption, it is time that Panjecars send him home."
