MARGAO
Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao on Wednesday said he is keeping all options open on plans to contest the 2022 Assembly polls.
On a day when reports did the rounds that the NCP lone MLA may not be averse in joining the TMC if the Congress does not accept the seats demanded by the party, Churchill was categorical in saying he is indeed keeping all options open.
Churchill’s stand assumed significance and comes against the backdrop of reports that two senior officials of I-PAC were scheduled to call on him at his Varca residence. “It is true that I-PAC leaders are coming to discuss with me the current political scenario. Let me have an audience with them and I will come to know their election plan for Goa,” he said.
The NCP lone MLA confirmed that he and daughter Valanka had called on party supremo Sharad Pawar and national general secretary Praful Patel to discuss the emerging political situation in the State. “My leaders have told me that talks are in progress with the Congress. We had asked for certain number of seats and the leaders are confident that the Congress would concede the seats to the NCP,” he said.
