Finally, after the long delay, the Congress India Alliance has presented the perfect candidate for the people of South Goa: Captain Viriato Fernandes. Fernandes has consistently worked to safeguard our Goa, its residents, and our natural environment. As we are all aware, certain individuals in positions of power have their eyes on the lands and projects of South Goa with nefarious intentions, and Fernandes has always been at the forefront of opposing projects that harm the people of Goa.
He has been forced to seek legal recourse due to false FIRs filed against NGOs and activists who are striving to preserve Goa’s cleanliness and greenery for future generations, while the government seeks to exploit our Mother Earth in the name of development. These actions bring tears and fear to our eyes as they cater to the desires of top political leaders and businessmen.
As we approach 7th May, let us support Captain Viriato and vote for the Congress, giving him the opportunity to serve as a Member of Parliament and advocate for our interests. I urge our BJP South Goa candidate, Pallavi Dempo, not to associate with the Congress-turned-BJP politicians at temples and churches, as their actions may incur the wrath of the gods. Let the battle between Congress and BJP in South Goa be fierce, and may the most deserving candidate emerge victorious.
