Anticipating a huge turnout of participants for the CZMP hearing at the SGPDA parking ground, the district authorities on Tuesday issued a notification for traffic diversions, closure of roads and parking lots in and around the PDA complex to ensure smooth traffic flow and parking for official vehicles and for the general public.
The notification issued by District Magistrate, Ruchika Katyal, IAS, has ordered closure of the entire stretch of left lane of SH-5 road from Old Market circle to Ravindra Bhavan circle for all types of vehicular traffic, except for government, emergency and judges’ vehicles. The opposite lane will be open for the traffic from Ravindra Bhavan to Old Market circle, but no alighting will be allowed along the stretch.
Vehicular traffic plying from KTC Margao/ Margao city/ Colva etc towards Fatorda will be diverted from Old Market circle to proceed via Holy Spirit/ Borda side Ambaji junction for onward journey.
Route buses coming from Ponda/Raia towards Margao will be diverted at Ravindra Bhavan circle to proceed via Faleiro junction Holy Spirit towards Margao city and KTC Margao.
All the Ponda/Raia/ Shiroda bound buses leaving from KTC Margao towards their destination will be diverted at Old Market circle to proceed towards Nuvem Bypass junction, Arlem junction and onwards.
The vehicles of general public coming to attend the public hearing will be parked on SGPDA parking, KTC parking, swimming pool parking and Ravindra Bhavan parking areas.
All the buses ferrying public coming to attend the hearing will be parked behind KTC parking. Depending on the situation and if needed, the diversion of traffic or road closure will be effected on any road in and around the venue to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
Public coming to attending the meeting in their vehicles will be allowed only from SGPDA/ Osia road near Kohinoor Optician. Any vehicle other than the one attending the public hearing will be allowed to enter SGPDA market area.
No vehicles will be allowed to park on either side of the road from Old Market circle to Ravindra Bhavan circle. Parking of vehicles on any carriage road in and around the hearing venue i.e. SGPDA market will be prohibited.
